In 2016, we are starting a new discussion series, “Topics on Tap”, which are informal small group discussions focused on challenges we face as we transition into new roles.  No experts, no homework, just discussion with real people who have to cope with new responsibilities during job transitions. Our first discussion was on managing and supervising people in the workplace.

Mindfulness is about self-care, letting go of negative self-judgments, and living fully in the present moment. Join us and learn meditation techniques to live mindfully and cultivate acceptance and a positive attitude to manage stressful moments in life and at work.

Roundtable Discussion with Ms. Caron DeMars of the U.S. Department of State 

A Roundtable Discussion with Ms. Caron DeMars of the US Department of State.  Ms. DeMars is currently working with “Connect to Success” women’s entrepreneurship program at the US Embassy in Portugal to document the program and identify how it can be transported to other US embassies around the world. Previously, she worked in Jordan and was the Environment, Science, Technology, and Health Hub Director for 17 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. During that time, Ms. DeMars launched the “Women in Science Hall of Fame” to celebrate outstanding women in science throughout the Middle East and North African regions.  Please see the most recent honorees at:
