Scientific Communication and The Art of Social Media

Listen to speakers on scientific communication and scientific outreach, network with professionals while your children (3-10 years old) can get engaged with STEM activities.

KID Museum is an innovative learning space unlike any other in the DC region. The museum provides hands-on learning that incorporates STEM, art, and culture with 21st-century skills like creativity and critical thinking. The children will be able to participate in the workshop & STEM stations at the museum while our members attend a session focused on science communication, scientific outreach, developing a social media brand and what it can do for your career.

Speakers include current AAAS policy fellow at the NIH and Story Collider producer, Dr. Maryam Zaringhalam (@webmz_), and Science Outreach Manager at the American Chemical Society, Dr. Lily Raines (@LilyR42).
